Slips, Trips and Falls
1st April 2014
Almost a third of all accidents are the result of slips, trips and falls caused, in the main, by poor housekeeping.
Most slip, trip and fall incidents could be avoided by the effective management of working areas and access routes, such as stairwells, corridors and footpaths
Some simple steps to take are:
- Beware of your surrounding, prior to carrying any materials or equipment plan your route
- Always keep access and passage ways clear at all times
- Store tools and equipment in a safe area i.e corner of the room
- Run cables and extension leads overhead and/or tight to skirting/wall where possible
- Tidy up any waste or spillages immediately
